How do you practice self-care?

One of my favourite self-care practices is attending hot yoga. I have been practicing at a local studio for nearly 10 years. The community feels more like my extended family than a yoga studio, which of course expands the impact of the self-care.

 

Some years, I have been able to practice yoga regularly.

 

Some years, my yoga practice was infrequent.

 

I am currently in a season of practicing yoga daily, and sometimes I practice yoga twice in a day.

 

If I reflect on my practice from a macro-view, and substitute ‘practice’ with ‘practice self-care’, my statements sound, feel and look slightly different in my minds’ eye…join me…

When I think about it as my practice of yoga, it feels optional and less important.

 

When I think about it as my practice of self-care, it feels non-negotiable and as important as breathing or sleeping.
