Offering Photography for your Precious and Delicate Moments
Nikki is a passionate, hobbyist photographer in method and practice.
She feels a deep, energetic connection to people and sees the authentic beauty in everyone and everything around her. She can intuitively sense people’s barriers, but it rarely interferes in her ability to see their natural and authentic selves. Nikki believes that her best photos are taken when she can quietly observe and capture the moments in the present moment. She loves to move alongside her clients, in companionship, without disrupting their movements, activity, flow, process or intention.
Nikki prefers to work with clients in places that are meaningful to them, such as their homes, natural spaces or favourite places - environments where her clients feel at ease.
Families experience difficult times. Loss, death, funerals and illness are delicate moments for families. Nikki is passionate about capturing these, equally precious, moments in life when clients are comfortable and willing to have her do so.
“When my daughter died, photography was a significant part of my loss and grief process - preserving memories, preserving experiences that were too difficult for me to be present for in that moment, at that time. Additionally, as tragic and painful as it was, it was also full of beauty and love. I was drawn to that beauty and love, and curious about it as well - these feelings often carried me through very heavy and dark days and nights. Gabrielle’s death changed the experience of time for me and early on in my grief, I often felt anxious about ‘time’. A fear of time passing from her last breath, a fear of time passing and forgetting her smell or voice, fear of forgetting a memory. Photography was my medium to explore that simultaneous pain and joy, love and grief, fear and curiosity, safely and gently and in my own ‘time’.”
Nikki provides her photography services on a volunteer basis.
